About me

Qualified as a Counsellor in 2008 I've had the privilege to see clients connect to the strength and resources they possess using counselling as a map, gaining the resilience and resources they seek. I am as passionate about counselling now as when I first started.

Prior to counselling I worked in public and private sectors, understanding the pressure of working cross organisation to deadlines and importance of boundaries and stress reduction to balance health, happiness and well being.

My Training and Qualifications

I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling having trained at The Psychosynthesis and Education Trust in London 2008, accredited by the BACP and University of East London and am a Registered Member of the BACP.

Trained with Mindfulness UK via the gold standard, Jon Kabat-Zinn Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course, mindfulness helps reduce stress and anxiety living more fully in the now.

A CBT Life Coach trained via the Transformational Academy  working with theory and practice of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Life Coaching also trained in Happiness Life Coaching.

With a BA Hons in Politics and Sociology from Strathclyde University following my degree I worked for many years in health and social care policy and empowerment.

My Professional Experience

Working in private practice in Burntisland Scotland, I have also worked as a Counsellor in London and Norfolk and online for many years.

I am Affiliate Counsellor for the Employee Assistance Programme Health Hero and worked as Counsellor for RedArc Nurses, Sugarman Health and Wellbeing, Dover Counselling Centre, Carers Trust, Teens and Toddlers.

In a career spanning 30 years I held development roles in Lambeth Social Services,  Macmillan Cancer Support, The National Audit Office and Transport for London gaining a wide understanding of organisational dynamics and also stress factors common to the workplace. These include the importance of boundaries and stress reduction techniques to manage work life balance and well being.
These valuable years of organisational dynamics continue to inform my counselling today.

"Lynne listened and gave me a renewed energy with every session, for the first time in years I feel in control." Client Experience
